ARTISTS:

Anjan Saha, Sitar

An empanelled artist of Indian Council for Cultural Relations, SpicMacay, eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Anjan Saha matured under the strict yet caring apprenticeship of his Guru Pandit Debiprosad Chatterjee of Maihar Gharana. Presently Anjan is studying with Sarod maestro Pt Tejendranarayan Majumder. Anjan received the National Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Govt of India in both 1992 and 1998. He is a graded artist of Prasar Bharati and received the Jadu Bhatta Award  by Salt Lake Cultural Association in 2020. Anjan has been performing extensively in India and abroad and conducting workshops at schools in Germany. Besides performing at various Music Festivals, Anjan mesmerizes audiences with his unique compositions including Vasanti Shringer, Ananda Chakram, and Kautuk. Presently, Anjan teaches in Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata.

Pankaj Mishra, Sarangi

The great-grandson of Sarangi virtuoso late Pt. Saraju Prasad Mishra, grandson of late Pt. Mahadeo Prasad Mishra, son of Shri Satya Narayan Mishra, Pankaj Mishra was trained from an early age by the renowned Sarangi player of the famous Banaras Gharana, late Pt. Mahesh Prasad Mishra. Pankaj has received the mantle of his musical forebears with the most tremendous respect and humility whilst working diligently to earn the reputation of an accomplished representative of an impressive and unique musical family.

Pandit Arup Chattopadhyay, Tabla

Pt. Arup Chattopadhyay is one of the finest and sought after Tabla artists of this generation. Arup began learning Tabla at the age of six from his father, the eminent Tabla player, Pt. Pankaj Chattopadhyay. He then came under the tutelage of the world renowned Tabla maestro Pt. Shankar Ghosh and is one of his premier disciples. Arup has been honoured to accompany the legend Bharat Ratna Pt. Ravi Shankar in tours throughout the US, Canada, Europe and India, including performances in Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Centre, Lincoln Centre in US and Barbican Hall in London. Arup has been a visiting lecturer with University of California, San Diego and previously a Professor of Tabla at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in London (Institute of Indian Culture).
