About

Dhrupad vocal music employs specific vocal techniques and uses the whole body with pure awareness to produce the distilled sounds. The sounds thus produced have a very meditative and calming effect and are the ultimate form of Naad Yoga.

For over the past 3 decades, the Gundecha Brothers have made their mark in the world of Dhrupad as the leading torchbearers of the illustrious Dagar Gharana tradition and specifically revitalized the jugalbandi format through their innovative and impactful presentations.

Since the sudden passing of Dhrupad maestro, visionary and musician, Ramakant Gundecha of the Gundecha Brothers group on Nov. 8, 2019, brother Umakant and son Anant are continuing the legacy. We are grateful to have them on our stage.
